Lehigh Valley Expo is underway at the Agri-Plex Expo Center in the Allentown Fairgrounds.
The morning began with an update on the Affordable Care Act from David Vassilaros, senior vice president of operations for the Benecon Group Inc., one of the featured speakers at a breakfast Health Care Symposium.
"If they can fix the tech stuff and they can make it affordable for most people it (the affordable care act) will be considered a success," Vassilaros told the group attending the event.
The Expo itself got underway at 10 a.m. with 120 vendors including Leading Edge Signs & Imaging of Bethlehem and American Advertising Federation – Greater Lehigh Valley.
More than 1,000 business professionals are expected to attend the Expo. Sheila Youst, executive administrator of AAF – GLV, was among those in attendance.
"I've been coming here the last couple of years," Youst said. "I do like the exposure we get. It is good networking for sure."
Among the highlights of this year's expo is the executive autos display featuring fine automobiles from some of the Lehigh Valley's top dealers.
A lunchtime awards ceremony also honored the Valley's Fastest Growing Companies.
INetU Managed Hosting, Oral Dynamics Inc., Team Capital Bank and Weidenhammer were among the businesses honored for their growth.
The Agri-Plex is located at 302 N. 17th St. Allentown. The expo continues until 4 p.m. today.
