The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said an $865,360 bridge project in Northampton County has been completed.
With the completion of the project, the Five Points Richmond Road Bridge over Oughoughton Creek in Washington Township, which has been closed since March, is now open.
Baseline Contracting Inc. of Coplay was the general contractor on the project to replace the old structurally deficient steel I-beam bridge with a new spread box beam bridge.
The old Five Points Richmond Road Bridge was built in 1949. It was 25 feet long and 25 feet wide. The new bridge is 40 feet long and 29 feet wide.
Five Points Richmond Road has an average daily traffic volume of 1,049 vehicles.
