Twenty-nine professionals were honored this morning at the inaugural CFO of the Year Awards held by Lehigh Valley Business.
About 350 people attended the breakfast and awards ceremony at University Center on the campus of DeSales University in Center Valley.
"This is the event of the year," said Dan Crowley of Peerless Business Solutions during the morning networking session. "It's such a rich environment. There are so many deals going on that I don't even want to eat."
Larry Dalesandro, Ronald J. Izewski, Kathy Ann Minnich, Dan Confalone and Christopher Pruitt were named CFOs of the year in their respective categories.
Tom Fenstermacher, chief financial officer and vice president, finance at Hospital Central Services Inc. in Allentown, and Patricia L. Stewart, CFO of Ironton Telephone Co. in Coplay, each received the lifetime achievement award.
Dalesandro, CFO at Lehigh Valley Technologies Inc. in Allentown, was CFO of the year for private companies with up to $50 million in annual revenue.
Izewski, senior vice president and CFO at Just Born Inc. in Bethlehem, was CFO of the year for private companies with more than $50 million in revenue.
Minnich, CFO of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania in Bethlehem, was CFO of the year for small nonprofits.
Confalone, senior vice president of finance and CFO at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network in Allentown, was CFO of the year for large nonprofits.
Pruitt, executive vice president and CFO at East Penn Manufacturing Co. Inc. in Lyon Station, was named the best growth manager of the year.
This event is to honor the financial professionals "who have skillfully worked" with their colleagues to lead their companies in both the short- and long-term said David A. Schankweiler, CEO of Journal Multimedia, parent company of Lehigh Valley Business.
Concannon Miller & Co., Sovereign Santander and JetPay Payroll Services, along with The Equinox Agency, Community Services for Children and Crystal Signatures, were sponsors for the event.
