Bethlehem Sausage Works plans to build a new manufacturing site in Forks Township.

At a recent township workshop meeting, township supervisors received plans from the company which outlined its goal of building a site on Mort Drive.

Tonight, the township will review the plan at its regular meeting and may give preliminary and final approval, said Erik Chuss, chairman of the township's board of supervisors.

He told Lehigh Valley Business that the company plans to employ about 24 workers and would locate the site in one of the township's industrial parks.

Chuss described the plan as "very clean," but said the township would look closer at zoning requirements and the impact on the area.

"We have a lot of great industrial land in the township," Chuss said. "To have a new facility being built, it's just a very positive thing. We're hoping they are successful."

The facility would be across from Famous Smoke Shop and Leaf Restaurant Cigar Bar & Lounge.
