While slot revenue was up 2.05 percent at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, overall slot revenue was down 2.5 percent at Pennsylvania’s 12 operating casinos in August.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control board reported that the August gross revenue from slot machines was $205.37 million for the month as compared to $210.58 in August 2012.
There were only 11 casinos operating in the state in August of last year, although the number of total operating machines at the casinos was about the same for both months.
The Sands had slot revenue of $25.4 million in August 2013 as compared to $24.9 million in August 2012.
Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mount Pocono saw a 4.61 percent decrease in slot revenue.
Slot revenue there was $13.47 million for August 2013 as compared to $14.12 million in August 2012.
The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania at the 12 casinos was 26,567 in August 2013 compared to 26,581 at 11 casinos in August 2012.
