You may not have heard of Bridgeway Academy yet, but a Philadelphia-area public relations firm said you will soon.
The Catasauqua-based home school program is one of two winners of the "Best Unknown Businesses in America" contest by the public relations firm Gregory FCA.
Bridgeway Academy was named runnerup for its work in providing home school support to more than 20,000 families.
The grand prize went to iMomentous, a mobile solutions provider based in Horsham.
Gregory FCA of Ardmore chose the two businesses with the help of a four-judge panel.
Greg Matusky, president and CEO of the public relations firm, said he has organized similar contests for clients to promote their businesses. He said that hosting the "Best Unknown Business in America" contest on Facebook was a good way to promote his company's services while helping a worthwhile business that was doing good work but not getting the recognition it deserved.
Matusky said Bridgeview was chosen because of its work in helping to develop the future of education.
"I think they're a very interesting company," he said. "But they're not getting the recognition or exposure that would be additive to their business in the future."
iMomentus will receive a $10,000 cash prize and a $40,000 public relations campaign.
