Phoebe Ministries of Allentown said it will be expanding its Phoebe Richland location.
The proposed development consists of 76 personal care units to be built on the Phoebe Richland campus at 108 S. Main St., Richlandtown.
The building will have 18 units designated solely for memory support with the possibility of adding 18 more if the need arises.
Designed as an addition to the existing Phoebe Richland campus, it will have two floors and consist of four neighborhoods that include studios, one-bedroom units and two semi-private rooms, in addition to congregate living and dining spaces.
Phoebe said the project will provide much-needed care options for the Upper Bucks community, in addition to creating jobs.
"Our goal is to create a very unique living environment for members of the local community who are in need of personal care," said Lisa Fichera, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Phoebe Ministries. "We are excited for this expansion because we receive inquiries from members of the local community weekly who are in need of services, and the expansion allows us to position ourselves to meet the requests of these community members."
A spokesperson from Phoebe said a cost estimate is not yet available on the project.
