Breinigsville company acquired for $400M

CyOptics Inc. of Breinigsville has been acquired by California-based Avago Technologies Limited for $400 million.

CyOptics develops core optical technologies to enable bandwidth for high-speed networks.

Avago is a supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications.

Avago said the Breinigsville firm will strengthen its fiber optics products portfolio.

Leveraging its Bell Labs and Lucent heritage, CyOptics has built a broad product portfolio and a customer base that includes leading module and system manufacturers.

According to CyOptics, its revenue more than tripled over the past three years. During calendar year 2012, CyOptics net sales were about $210 million, up 21 percent from 2011.

It is one of five firms being honored by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeast Pennsylvania. It is being honored for entrepreneurial achievement at a May 7 event.
