The entertainment scene of the Lehigh Valley just unveiled its newest attraction—“Dinner and a Show” – at ArtsQuest at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
Guests attending SteelStacks for a concert, film or comedy show now have the option of a new experience at the performing arts center — sit-down table-dining service in the Mike and Ike Bistro every Thursday-Saturday from 5-10 p.m.
It's quite often that we find ourselves wanting to partake in more than one event at any given time. You really want to catch this show downtown on Friday night, but you also want to take out your significant other for a nice dinner and a few cocktails to wash away a stressful week at work.
With the new Dinner and a Show experience at the Bistro, patrons can enjoy dinner from a diverse menu that features entrees such as braised short ribs with lentils and Swiss chard; Vietnamese curry chicken stew; and mushroom ravioli with roasted Kennett Square mushrooms and spinach in a shitake cream sauce … All while catching that band or movie you just couldn't miss. It's a win-win for both, without having to compromise!
And the dining experience isn't mundane, for its intimate setting amid the "Blast Furnace" art exhibit features images from inside the blast furnaces of those at the former Bethlehem Steel plant. When you sit down to dine, you'll find your table decorated with linens, silverware and candle centerpieces. And depending on how fancy you're feeling, you can take advantage of the new valet parking service that's available from 5-11 p.m. every Thursday-Saturday.
Following dinner, guests can explore a multitude of options offered at SteelStacks, including free performances in the Creativity Commons on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as ticketed shows in the Musikfest Café, the latest independent films in the arts center's cinemas and improv stand-up comedy performances on Thursday nights.
Later this spring, Dinner and a Show will be expanded to include the outdoor Air Products Town Square. The al fresco dining experience will include live musical performances on the TD Bank Community Stage, as well as the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks shows across the street from the ArtsQuest Center.
