The ArtsQuest Center in Bethlehem again has received international acclaim for its architecture. The arts center, designed by Spillman Farmer Architects of Bethlehem, was chosen as a winner in the Architecture+Urban Transformation category by the Architizer A+ Awards jury.

The awards showcase the world's best architecture to an international audience.

The ArtsQuest Center received first-place accolades in the urban transformation category, which honors architecture that revitalizes neglected areas and results in lively community spaces.

"Honoring our country's industrial past is a critical first step to healthy and vibrant revitalization. We are fortunate to work in a community comprised of visionary and steadfast leadership working together toward a common goal," said Spillman Farmer Design Principal Joseph Biondo. "Embracing our history while introducing a diversity of arts, culture and technology will always be a catalyst in transforming urban areas."

The 2013 Architizer jury received hundreds of entries from more than 100 countries. The jury evaluated projects based on excellence in form, function, innovation, intent and reality and selected a winner in each of 50 categories. Five finalists from each category also were subject to a popular vote for an additional public award.
