Sands fined over $68,000 for age, vendor violations

Sands Bethworks Gaming LLC, the operator of the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem has been fined $68,000 by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for six separate incidents of allowing people who were underage onto the casino floor.


The fine was the largest of a total of $157,000 worth of fines levied against four Pennsylvania casinos yesterday for various violations.

This was the third time Sands Bethworks gaming was fined by the board for underage violations since its last license renewal. Previously the board fined the Sands $48,000 for four underage gaming violations in 2012 and fined it $48,000 for six underage gaming violations in 2010.

In a separate matter, the board also approved a $7,500 fine against the Sands for conducting business with a gaming service provider who appeared on the board's prohibited vendor list.

Fines were also levied against Chester Downs and Marina LLC, the Washington Trotting Association and the Valley Forge Convention Center Partners LP.
