The company is set to replace the structurally deficient bridge, which crosses over the Oughoughton Creek in Washington Township, Northampton County.
In the $865,360 project, the contractor will replace the existing steel I-beam bridge with a spread box beam bridge.
The existing bridge, built in 1949, is 25 feet long by 25 feet wide. The new bridge will be 40 feet long and 29 feet wide, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The bridge will be closed during the duration of the construction, which is expected to be completed by October.
PennDOT said about 1,049 vehicles travel over the bridge daily.
