Beginning June 5, the Farmers Market will be open from 4-8 p.m. Wednesdays.

During these new hours, visitors will have the opportunity to taste free samples of Weyerbacher's brews, as well as offerings from 20 other vendors.

"There is an exploding craft beer movement in Easton. Through our involvement, we hope to highlight the great local restaurants that support Easton Farmers Market's farm-to-table philosophy. Just as farmers' market patrons seek great local foods, they're also awakening their senses for great local beer," said Weyerbacher Brewing Company's Bill Brag.

Megan McBride, Easton Farmers' Market Manager, said interest in the Farmers Market warrants more events and additional days of operation. Currently the market is only open Saturdays.

On Saturdays, however, the market attracts 3,000-5,000 visitors weekly who range from New York City chefs to locals looking for fresh produce, meats, cheeses and prepared foods.

"This shows we can really support multiple market days," McBride said.

The announcement was held at 30-32 S. Sitgreaves St., in the city. The buildings date to the mid 1800s and are being transformed by Easton natives Jay and Karen Miller. The couple is turning the homes into two, one-bedroom apartments and two, two-bedroom apartments.

The Millers said the renovations will be completed in four to six weeks.
