KNBT will soon be no more. As of Feb. 16, all KNBT offices will be changed over to National Penn Bank, which has two divisions, including KNBT and Nitanny Bank.

"This year, we have 34 KNBT offices in Lehigh and Northampton counties and those will change to the National Penn name," said Peter Gray, Northern Region president of National Penn Bank.

In February 2012, the company changed 13 of its KNBT offices in Carbon, Monroe and Luzerne counties to the National Penn name, said Gray.

"National Penn has been implementing a plan over the past couple years to move all of its offices to one division," said Gray.

KNBT has been part of National Penn for five years now and Nitanny Bank will also change its name to National Penn.

No additional staff would be hired as a result of the name change.

The only thing that will change will be the signs, said Gray.

National Penn will further expand its Lehigh Valley presence when the headquarters moves from Boyertown to Downtown Allentown in 2014.
