Sally Gammon, the president and CEO of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network in Allentown since 1997, has announced her intention to retire in 2013.

Meanwhile, the Allentown Rescue Mission announced that it has parted ways with its executive director, Gary Millspaugh, as part of an ongoing reorganization.

Gammon said she does intend to remain involved with Good Shepherd and the local community after her retirement.

She spearheaded the organization's transformation from a local rehabilitation services provider and operator of a home for the disabled to a nationally recognized leader in post-acute health care.

The high-energy senior executive carved out a reputation for combining creative, visionary leadership and pragmatic business acumen within rapidly changing environments.

The Good Shepherd Board of Trustees noted that it has commenced a search for the organization's next president and CEO.

The Allentown Rescue Mission's board of directors is close to hiring a chief executive officer for the mission and will release more information as soon as it is available.

“The mission deeply appreciates Gary's contributions and the leadership he displayed during his tenure as executive director,” said Tom Gibson, Allentown Rescue Mission board president.
