The Allentown Morning Call newspaper has hired a Michigan firm, American Newspaper Solutions(ANS), to handle its home delivery distribution.

American Newspaper Solutions will provide delivery, tracking and reporting of daily newspaper print materials and total market coverage products.

Jerry Ballenger, CEO of the firm said he expects the service to save money for the newspaper.

“This relationship will reduce the administrative and (human resources) functions of The Morning Call associated with this distribution and allow the newspaper to focus on business development and building advertising revenue in a challenging marketplace.”

He said the company's Carrier Track technology will allow customers to utilize enhanced tracking capabilities, while allowing subscribers a more efficient way to communicate with the circulation division on topics such as customer requests for product.

The company began delivery operations as of Dec. 3.
