The renovations began after hurricane Irene damaged the restaurant and forced it to close for a period in the fall of 2011.
Boyle was able to get the restaurant and event center fully operational within a few months of the damage with floor to ceiling renovations including high end wall treatments, fixtures and a new private dining space by enclosing an outdoor patio.
As soon as the interior was complete, Boyle started on a timber structure outdoor bar. There was a tight timeframe to be open and take advantage of the summer months. The 2,000-square-foot outdoor bar has a sculptural fireplace that serves as a focal point for patrons and also provides warmth for near year round dining and bar atmosphere.
The final phase will be completed this winter, the complete renovation of the second floor meeting/private dining rooms. In addition to new finishes the second floor will feature a small bar.
The client for the project was George Paxos Project and the architect is Howard Kulp Architects, PC.
