Sacred Heart Hospital Laboratory Department, Allentown, has been awarded accreditation by the
Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection.
National Penn Bancshares Inc. of Boyertown has made a corporate donation of $10,000 to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The check was presented to the American Red Cross by Joe Lennert, president of Caruso Benefits Group and Pete Gray, president of National Penn's northern region.
Capital BlueCross of Harrisburg has recognized four of its group customers with awards for exhibiting excellence in worksite wellness. The award winners were selected based on their innovativeness, creativity and implementation of programs that work to improve the health of their workforce. The four 2012 Capital BlueCross Worksite Wellness Award recipients and their categories are:
• DENTSPLY International Inc. of York (major segment, first place);
• Rodale Inc. of Emmaus (major segment, runner up);
• Fortna Inc. of Reading (large group); and
• Bethany Children's Home of Womelsdorf (small group).
EcoTech Marine of Bethlehem has received two of MarineDepot.com's Best of 2012 Awards in the Best Aquarium Light and Best Powerhead categories. EcoTech Marine was one of only two companies to receive more than one award this year from a pool of more than 180 global brands considered.
The awards, which recognize aquarium supply manufacturers and products that have demonstrated outstanding performance throughout a one-year period, called out EcoTech's Radion XR30w LED Light Fixture and EcoTech's MP40 VorTech Propeller Pump.
Arcadia Properties LLC, a Bethlehem-based real estate development and management company, said that through its health care services division, Arcadia Health Care Development Partners LLC, it is constructing a 40,000-square-foot medical office building outpatient center for Lancaster General Health. The center will house physician offices, provide healthcare services such as lab testing and diagnostic imaging, and urgent care for minor emergencies.
