Amani Duncan, vice president of brand marketing for C.F. Martin, said the lease of the 46,437-square-foot site will help the world-famous instrument maker meet the growing demand for their products.
The facility will be used to store and distribute lumber used in specialty guitars. Duncan said that Martin is seeing strong growth, with 2011 being a milestone year where the company reached $100 million in revenue and earned a listing as one of the 25 fastest-growing companies in the Lehigh Valley.
“We are growing and our number one resource is wood,” said Duncan.
She said storing the wood locally helps with Martin's turnaround time and makes their operations more efficient.
The space is only a temporary solution, however.
“We like to own, but our needs are very specific,” said Duncan. “We do have real estate agents scouring the area for the perfect site while this is meeting our immediate needs.”
