The Reading Hospital is now known as the Reading Health System.

The health care provider has undertaken a rebranding – a name change it said more clearly identifies its integrated health care system.

Spokesman Joseph Lyons said the entire system – encompassing 63 locations throughout the region – will now go by the new moniker, while the main 673-bed acute care hospital in West Reading will be referred to simply as the Reading Hospital. It was previously referred to as the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, while the entire system fell under the name Reading Hospital.

The Reading Health System said that by using the word “system” it suggests the advantages of building on its strengths across the organization, and links facilities, services and physicians delivering integrated care.
