Earl Adams Memorial Park 8935 Breinigsville Road Breinigsville, PA 18031 Directions
The second annual Pat Ytsma Ride Safe Bike Tour will take place on June 2nd, 2013. The tour was established in 2011 to honor Pat Ytsma of Bethlehem, who died after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle. The late Mr. Ytsma was a lifelong advocate for cycling safety. His vigilance in obeying all posted signs, warnings, and traffic laws governing bicycles contributes to his legacy of awareness: through safety, understanding and advocacy, drivers and cyclists can learn to share the road.
20- and 40-mile tours will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., respectively. All rides will begin and end at Earl Adams Memorial Park in Breinigsville, PA. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., and all riders must return to the start/finish line by 1 p.m. All cyclists will be required to wear a helmet.
Participants can register online for $40 at PatYtsmaBikeTour.com until May 20th, 2013. Participants are encouraged to raise pledges for the ride. The rider who raises the most pledges will be awarded a new Jamis Coda Comp Bicycle. The second place fundraiser will receive a two-night stay at the Historic Times House Bed and Breakfast in Jim Thorpe, PA. All pre-registered riders will receive an official t-shirt.
All registration fees, pledges, and proceeds will be donated directly to a fund for the Ytsma childrens college education.
